About

I'm Simon Smyth. I run Ingenio Technologies, an IT support company in Sussex. In my own time I build things with AI agents and take hardware apart to see what else it can do.

This site is where I write those experiments up. When I get stuck, the answer is often spread across old forum threads, or nobody has written it down at all. Once I've worked it out, I put it here so the next person doesn't have to search for it.

What I write about

  • Agentic coding with Claude Code and Codex
  • Hermes, the AI assistant I run on my own server
  • Hardware hacking and mods, from KVMs to 3D printers
  • Home lab and self-hosting experiments

Each post says what I tried, what broke and what fixed it.
